About MMHC

The Mamiya Medical Heritage Center, located in the Hawaii Medical Library, was established in July 1999 by Richard T. Mamiya, MD. The Center houses the archives, medical museum, and special collections of the Library, consisting of over 4,000 volumes of rare and special collections books, over 10,000 photographs, over 200 medical instruments, and approximately 200 linear feet of records and personal papers.

The Hawaii Medical Library, established in 1913, is located in downtown Honolulu on the grounds of the Queen's Medical Center and is a Queen's Health Systems Company.

Mission

The Center is dedicated to collecting, organizing, preserving and providing access to resources documenting the history of medicine in Hawaii.
