NEVILLE GEORGE ACHONG

Dr. Neville G. Achong was born on May 9, 1922. He received his medical degree from Howard University Medical School in 1950. He served residencies in general surgery at Bridgeport Hospital, Connecticut, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, Royal Ottawa Sanitarium (Tb), Port of Spain, Trinidad, and was on the full-time staff at Syracuse General Hospital, Syracuse, New York in the early 1960s. He came to Wailuku, Maui in 1963 and practiced there until retirement in about 1985.

Dr. Achong was a member of the American Medical Association, Hawaii Medical Association, Maui County Medical Society, American College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He and his wife, Florence, lived in Kahului, Maui.

Dr. Achong died on February 24, 2004.
