American Association for the History of Nursing - In addition to providing information on the organization, this site includes helpful information in the form of bibliographies, a directory of resources, and links to selected web sites for those interested in exploring the history of nursing.
The Center for the History of Medicine - Contains exhibits and reference resources for studying the history of the health sciences, especially in Michigan. Indexes and contact information for other archival and manuscript collections involved in health history are listed. For librarians, curators, and archivists, the site includes policies, documentation, and bibliographies.
Changing the Face of Medicine: Celebrating America's Women Physicians - A companion to the exhibit at the National Library of Medicine. Contains information on becoming a doctor, bibliographies that highlight women in medicine, web-based activities to aid in learning about the human body and exceptional physicians and web-based video streams of interviews with featured physicians.
The Alan Chesney Medical Archives - Gives a virtual tour of the official archival repository of The John Hopkins Medical Institutions. This electronic point of entry to the repository introduces the range of holdings and the opportunities for research. It includes several small finding aids to the collections; other guides are under construction and will soon appear.
Eye Antiques & Collectibles - A virtual exhibit of ophthalmological equipment, instruments, and literature. Created and maintained by Dr. Gary Edwards, a practicing ophthalmologist in Honolulu, this site displays some of Dr. Edwards' own collection and digital photos from collectors all over the world.
Historical Anatomies on the Web - A digital project designed to give Internet users access to high quality images from several anatomical atlases in the National Library of Medicine's collection. Each atlas is linked to a brief Author & Title Description, which offers an historical discussion of the work, its author, the artists, and the illustration technique.
History & Special Collections Division, UCLA L. Darling Biomedical Library - Contains information regarding the Library's collection of medical and natural history material. You may view the Library's Online Sketch in Medical History: A Digital Project. The first effort focuses on bloodletting.
History of Medicine Division, National Library of Medicine - Includes links to Images from the History of Medicine web site and to NLM Online Exhibitions.
International Museum of Surgical Science - Includes the "Interactive Antique Illness Test," where Internet users are transported back in time to rural United States during the 1860's and must make the right choices in order to survive.
Tobacco Control Archives - Sponsored by the UCSF Library & Center for Knowledge Management, Department of Archives & Special Collections whose purpose is to collect, preserve, and provide access to papers, unpublished documents and electronic resources relevant to tobacco control issues primarily in California. This site includes an electronic version of the Cigarette Papers by Stanton A. Glantz, et. al. and images of records from the Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation.
Bishop Museum Archives - Provides an introduction to the various documents, visual materials, sound recordings, and maps collected by the museum that has been designated as Hawaii's State Museum for Cultural and Natural History.
Daughters of Hawaii - Founded in 1903 by seven women who were daughters of American Protestant missionaries, the Daughters of Hawaii was one of the first organizations in Hawaii to recognize the importance of historical preservation. The Queen Emma Summer Palace in Honolulu, Oahu and Hulihee Palace in Kailua-Kona, on the island of Hawaii are owned and maintained by the Daughters of Hawaii.

Hawaii Museums Association - Includes information on the Association, as well as links and information to the various museums in the State of Hawaii.
Hawaii State Archives - Describes the services and collection of the body with the legal responsibility over the documents for the state and territorial governments, the Republic of Hawaii, and the Hawaiian Kingdom.
Hawaiian Historical Society - Gives information on the society's history, publications, and collections.
Honolulu Advertiser - Provides electronic access to selected articles from Honolulu's morning newspaper. HML has compiled a list of items featuring health and medicine articles from the Honolulu Advertiser.
Honolulu Star-Bulletin - Provides electronic access to selected articles from Honolulu's afternoon newspaper. HML has compiled a list of items featuring health and medicine articles from the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.
Hospitals and Health Care in Hawaii: History - Lists links to sites describing origins and history of Hawaii's hospitals and health care agencies.
Kauai Historical Society - Provides access to finding aids, tells the story of Kauai and has a listing of local historic sites.
Lanai Cultural Heritage Center - LCHC seeks to collect, document and share the history of Lana'i with residents and visitors alike. The center includes artifacts of Hawaiian origin collected through archaeological investigations, and by plantation employees over the years, found while working the fields with plow and hoe. Historical plantation era documents and family memorabilia have also been donated to the LCHC.
Lyman House Memorial Museum - Showcases the natural and cultural history of Hawai`i in its exhibit halls and its 1839 historic missionary home. The museum also features collections of seashells and minerals that are world-wide in scope, ancient art of China, artists of Hawai`i, and changing special exhibitions.
Maui Historical Society - Provides information on the Society, Bailey House Museum, and the Museum Shop. This site includes copies of finding aids to collections in the the Society's Archives Resource Center.
Mission Houses Museum - The Hawaiian Mission Children's Society owns and operates the Mission Houses Museum, a historic site, house museum, research library and compiles genealogical records of the American Protestant missionaries in Hawai'i.
State Historic Preservation Division - Provides users with various ways to search for information on historic sites and from archaeological reports. The Division is responsible for implementing the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 as amended, Chapter 6E, "Historic Preservation," of the Hawai`i Revised Statutes (HRS) and supports other laws pertaining to Historic Preservation in the islands.
University of Hawaii Archives - Gives an overview of the archives and manuscripts collections held in the University's Archives and in the Hawaii War Records Depository.
American Memory : Historical Collections for the National Digital Library - American Memory is a gateway to rich primary source materials relating to the history and culture of the United States. The site offers more than 7 million digital items from more than 100 historical collections. The Stars and Stripes, the newsletter of World War I, 1918-1919 is included in full text.
COOL - Contains a full-text database on conserving library, archival, and museum materials. This database is a project of the Preservation Department of the Stanford University Libraries.
National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) - Represents the official web site of the independent federal agency responsible for preserving the history of the United States and overseeing the management of all federal records. This site includes a link to the NARA Archival Information Locator (NAIL), a pilot database of selected NARA holdings. Users may use the search engine to retrieve digital copies of selected textual documents, photographs, maps, and sound recordings.
Ready, 'Net, Go! Archival Internet Resources - Presents a "meta index" with links to the major indexes, lists, and databases of archival resources.
Repository of Primary Resources - Provides links to national and international sites that describe holdings of primary materials (e.g., manuscripts, archives, photographs). The page is maintained by the University of Idaho's Terry Abraham.
Special Collections and Archives Related Links - Contains links that would be of interest to special collections librarians and archivists. Topics include book dealers, electronic journals and newsletters, reference materials, associations, and organizations.
