Botanical name: Strychnine, Strychnos Nux-vomica The seeds of this Southeast Asian tree were reportedly tested by Cleopatra for her suicide. The nut is said to cure intermittent fevers and bites of venomous snakes. Historically thought of as a tincture for gastro-intestinal stimulation. Said to act best when given in the evening. Also used for the circulatory system, nervous conditions, and as a rodenticide. |
