Aconitum jar

Botanical name: Aconitum napellus

Common names: Monkshood, Wolf's bane

All parts of this plant contain a deadly, fast-acting poison (aconite or aconitine) which affects the heart and central nervous system. Used externally as a tincture, liniment, and/or ointment for relieving pain, itching, and inflammation. Historically, used orally as a cardiac depressant and as an internal agent as a treatment for fevers.
