Provides the full text for more than 8,800 serials. The database contains full text back to 1965 and searchable cited references back as far as 1998. Its coverage includes virtually all subject areas related to business. It is updated on a daily basis via EBSCOhost.

ChemIDplus

Provides access to structure and nomenclature authority files used for the identification of chemical substance cited in National Library of Medicine (NLM) databases. ChemIDplus also provides structure searching and direct links to many biomedical resources at NLM and on the Internet for chemicals of interest. Records may searched by name, synonym, CAS registry number, molecular formula, classification code, locator code, and structure. ChemIDplus is searchable through TOXNET's Toxicology data search.

CINAHL Plus

Provides authoritative coverage of the literature related to nursing and allied health. Virtually all English-language publications are indexed along with the publications of the American Nurses Association and the National League for Nursing.

Selected journals are also indexed in the areas of consumer health, biomedicine, and health sciences librarianship. The database also provides access to health care books, nursing dissertations, selected conference proceedings, standards of professional practice, educational software and audiovisual materials, and book chapters, as well as Evidence-Based Care Sheets. Searchable cited references for more than 1,190 journals are also included. Full text material includes nearly 80 journals plus legal cases, clinical innovations, critical paths, drug records, research instruments and clinical trials.

CINAHL Plus includes PreCINAHL™ as a companion database for subscribers. PreCINAHL provides current awareness of new journal articles, and includes a rotating file of limited bibliographic information (no subject indexing) that is available to searchers only while these articles are being indexed. This enables users to gain access to article citations that otherwise would not be available. Once the bibliographic records are complete, they are added to the CINAHL database and removed from PreCINAHL.

Clinical Study Results

Contains the results of all controlled clinical trials (mainly Phase III and IV studies), both positive and negative, completed since October 2002 for PhRMA-member company drug products approved in the United States. The database includes both published articles and unpublished study summaries.

Offers up-to-date information for locating federally and privately supported clinical trials for a wide range of diseases and conditions. A clinical trial (also clinical research) is a research study in human volunteers to answer specific health questions. Interventional trials determine whether experimental treatments or new ways of using known therapies are safe and effective under controlled environments. Observational trials address health issues in large groups of people of populations in natural settings.

A unique source of reliable and up-to-date information on the effects of interventions in health care. Published on a quarterly basis, The Cochrane Library is designed to provide information and evidence to support decisions taken in health care and to inform those receiving care. It consists of a regularly updated collection of evidence-based medicine databases. The databases are: The Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (Cochrane Reviews), Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects (DARE), The Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), The Cochrane Methodology Register (Methodology Register), Health Technology Assessment Database (HTA), NHS Economic Evaluation Database (NHS EED).

DIRLINE

A National Library of Medicine online database containing location and descriptive information about a wide variety of information resources including organizations, research resources, projects, and databases concerned with health and biomedicine. This information may not be readily available in bibliographic databases. Each record may contain information on the publications, holdings, and services provided. DIRLINE contains approximately 10,000 records and focuses primarily on health and biomedicine, although it also provides limited coverage of some other special interests.

This database has been developed from biomedical research, testing or training programs being federally funded in FY1998, FY1999, and FY2000. A collection of databases available to anyone from the Hawaii Medical Library or Queen's Medical Center. The databases can also be accessed remotely through the Hawaii State Public Library System (HSPLS) web site by Hawaii State residents with a valid HSPLS Library Card. Many of the databases provide full-text access, in total, there are over 10,000 resources that are available full-text through the EBSCO Consortium.

Framingham SNP Health Association Resource (SHARe)

In 2007, the Framingham Heart Study (FHS) entered a new phase with the conduct of genotyping for the FHS SHARe (SNP Health Association Resource) project, for which genotyping is conducted using approximately 550,000 SNPs (Affymetrix 500K mapping array plus Affymetrix 50K supplemental array) in over 9,300 subjects from the three generations of subjects (including over 900 families). The SHARe database is housed at NCBI's dbGaP and will contain all 550,000 SNPs as well as SNP and microsatellite genotyping conducted previously in the FHS. The phenotype database will contain a vast array of phenotype information available in all three generations.

Health & Psychosocial Instruments (HaPI)

Provides ready access to information on measurement instruments (i.e., questionnaires, interview schedules, checklists, index measures, coding schemes/manuals, rating scales, projective techniques, vignettes/scenarios, tests) in the health fields, psychosocial sciences, organizational behavior, and library and information science. HAPI assists researchers, practitioners, educators, administrators, and evaluators, including students, to identify measures needed for research studies, grant proposals, client/patient assessment, class papers/projects, theses/dissertations, and program evaluation. By creating an organized resource of previously unavailable measurement information, HAPI: (a) provides a means of locating a variety of instruments, (b) helps to reduce inefficiency and cost, and (c) eliminates duplication and "reinvention of the wheel."

Health Source: Consumer Edition

Consumer health information database. A new feature is searching by specific source type. On entering the search screen, users are presented with a source selection list, where they can opt to search by all sources, a combination of sources or just one source. The source list includes options to search such sources as pamphlets, reference books, periodicals, book reviews, clinical reports and drug information. In addition to its new sophisticated search functionality, Health Source: Consumer Edition WEB features the most full-text from the largest selection of data sources on consumer health and patient education information. Health Source: Consumer Edition now includes PDF images for many of these titles.

A peer-reviewed and fully referenced database of drugs to which breastfeeding mothers may be exposed. Among the data included are maternal and infant levels of drugs, possible effects on breastfed infants and on lactation, and alternate drugs to consider.

Contains a collection of respected, scholarly peer-reviewed publications including law journals, documents, and case studies. Legal Collection offers full text for nearly 250 of the world's best law journals. This database provides information centered on the discipline of law and legal topics such as criminal justice, international law, federal law, medical, labor & human resource law, ethics, much more. Full text journals contained in this database include: American Journal of Criminal Law, California Law Review, and many more. In addition to full text, indexing and abstracts are provided for all journals in the collection. The majority of full text titles are available in native (searchable) PDF, or scanned-in-color. Full text information in this database dates as far back as 1965.

MEDLINE OvidSP

Produced by the U.S. National Library of Medicine, the MEDLINE database iswidely recognized as the premier source for bibliographic and abstract coverage of biomedical literature. MEDLINE encompasses information from Index Medicus, Index to Dental Literature, and International Nursing, as well as other sources of coverage in the areas of allied health, biological and physical sciences, humanities and information science as they relate to medicine and health care, communication disorders, population biology, and reproductive biology. More than 11 million records from more than 4,000 journals are indexed, plus records formally indexed in Healthstar, Bioethicsline and Aidsline. Abstracts are included for about 60% of the records.

Note: Ovid Online Services has scheduled downtimes every Saturday from 7pm - 10pm (Mountain Time). This is the only time intended for scheduled downtime, but only with advance notice.
